Harris Park boating
Harry Harris Park is one of the most popular destinations for boating in the Upper Keys. On calm weekends, it is among the busiest spots. However, there are some important things to know before heading there. The boat ramp is overcrowded, with just one employee. You should always check the weather before setting out to boat. And if you want to avoid the crowds on a weekend, you should try to book a charter beforehand.
A new policy for boating at Harry Harris Park, a waterfront park in Tavernier, is in the works. Its two boat ramps lead directly to the Atlantic Ocean. However, the park’s entrance fee will soon increase, from $5 per person to $20. The fees will be waived for residents, but out-of-county boaters will be charged at least seven to eight dollars more for entry. Monroe County commissioner Kathy Murphy plans to discuss the issue at her upcoming meeting.

Harris Lake, located a short drive south of Raleigh, is a popular destination for fishers. Here, you can cast your line and catch a variety of freshwater game fish, including largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, and several species of catfish. Bass are typically between two and four pounds in size, and the company’s biologists collect samples of the lake at ten standardized locations. Once the samples are collected, they are stunned and then assessed for any diseases or deformities. See More Information…
